1 Day Coastal Reef Fishing - (group bookings up to 10 persons)

We depart at 7am from the Cullen Bay Ferry terminal and travel west to the numerous reef bombies and gutters in the Charles Point and Bynoe harbour areas. Depending on the conditions we will move around this area for the best fishing action. We may cover Fish Reef, Middle Reef, Bass Reef, Gilruth Point, Jones Reef and Lorna Shoal. You would expect to catch a variety of fish including the mighty Black Jew Fish (grows up to 40lbs), Golden snapper (Finger Mark), Red Snapper, Tusk fish (fish will vary with the time of year).

When you arrive in the morning we supply fresh juice, plunger coffee, tea and biscuits. Morning tea comprises fresh fruits, cakes, or perhaps the first cleansing Ale! Lunch is a smorgasbord of fresh sliced meats and rolls, freshly prepared salads, chicken pieces, and an array of accompaniments along with all condiments and garnishing. Afternoon tea is served on the way home and includes a cheese platter, dips, pate and olives. We can arrange special catering for your important clients, include seafood or cook your fish fresh on the BBQ.

The crew will clean and chill your fish for you, ready to take home (subject to NT Fishing regulations). We return to the Cullen Bay Ferry terminal at 5pm .

2 Day coastal reef fishing – (group bookings of up to 5 persons)

Explore some of Darwin 's most productive outer reef systems, shoals and islands. Experience more fishing, at the best times, at the best locations with no-one else around!

The 2 day coastal fishing experience departs at 7am from the Cullen Bay Ferry terminal. We travel west to the North Bynoe Harbour area to fish the numerous reef bombies and gutters, while keeping a look-out for surface fishing action. Later that day we move out towards Bass reef and Lorna Shoal where we anchor for the night. Enjoy fresh barbequed fish and other tasty delights for dinner followed by night fishing for the really big Jew Fish. At the end of the day retire to your air-conditioned cabin for a restful nights sleep on the water.

Throughout the day we supply:

  • Morning Tea- fruit plater, cakes, biscuits, tea, plunger coffee, juices;
  • Lunch- smorgasbord lunch including cold meats, salads, seafood fresh bread and accompaniments;
  • Afternoon Tea- Cheese plater, olives, fresh vegetables, crackers, nuts and chips.
  • Iced water all day and soft drinks (BYO alcohol).
  • Breakfast on Day 2 is cereal, toast, fruit, fresh plunger coffee, tea or a big cook-up of bacon and eggs can be arranged on request.

Day 2 continues southwest toward numerous reefs and outer islands and at 2pm we begin the run home stopping at a couple of likely spots along the way. We deliver you at Cullen Bay around 6pm .

The crew will clean and chill your fish for you, ready to take home (subject to NT Fishing regulations).


Extended Live Aboard Charters - (3 and 4 day or custom)

Option 1
We depart Cullen Bay at 7am and travel direct to the Tiwi Islands . Travel time is around 4 hours when we begin to fish the shoals and reefs surrounding Bathurst Island . Around 3pm we move toward the inshore calm and safe anchorage. Here we use the tenders to probe the vast mangrove creek systems to catch Mud Crabs, Barramundi, Threadfin Salmon and Mangrove Jacks. On the final day around lunchtime we begin the run home and delivering you at Cullen Bay around 7pm .

Option 2
Sleep while you travel!
Departing Cullen Bay at 5pm you can watch the sunset over the ocean, and enjoy a refreshing drink, as we travel towards the Tiwi Islands overnight. We arrive at a safe and smooth anchorage, in the early morning, ready for your stay. You awake to the pristine estuary environment of the Tiwi Islands . Your fishing guide will take you to explore the vast array of fishing spots using the two tenders. Experience Mud crabbing, trolling lures for big Barramundi, casting for Threadfin Salmon and Mangrove Jacks. On the final day we begin the early morning run home stopping at a couple of likely spots for reef fishing and delivering you at Cullen Bay around 5pm .

Option 3
The captains' choice!
Experience the ideal sports fishing option. Maximize your experience, maximum the fishing opportunity.

Depart Darwin airport by twin engine Charter aircraft at 8am and enjoy a scenic flight to a destination on Bathurst Island . The friendly Goldcat crew will meet you at your destination and transport you to the MV Goldcat. The mothership is located at an ideal safe and smooth anchorage, with all the comforts you require for the stay. Each day your fishing guide will select the best locations, and using the tenders you can catch Mud Crabs, Barramundi, Threadfin Salmon and Mangrove Jacks. During the trip, we can arrange to leave the tenders behind and take the ‘MV Goldcat' to the close coastal reefs for a day of reef fishing action, returning to safe anchor around 5pm . While you are fishing the days away, our on-board chef will prepare all your meals, including the catch of the day. At night relax on the back deck with a drink while dangling a line for Blue Salmon, Golden Snapper or Jew Fish. On the final day you can fish right-up until your twin engine charter aircraft will arrive, ready to return you to Darwin at around 4pm .

What you're likely to catch and see
You would expect to catch a variety of fish including the mighty Black Jew Fish (grows up to 40lbs), Golden Snapper (Finger Mark), Barramundi, Threadfin Salmon, Blue Salmon, Trevally, Shark, Bream, Cod and Mud Crabs.

Wild life around these areas includes a variety of birds-life including: White Breasted Sea Eagles; Brahminy Kites; Blue Kingfishers; Jabiru; Egrets, Plovers, Sand Pipers, Striated Herons and many more. You may even see Turtles, Dugong and Sea snakes. There will also be plenty of opportunities for Crocodile spotting.

Meals for extended trips.
Our on-board chef prepares all your meals fresh each day. We provide a wide range of top quality food, and can cater to your individual needs (please let us know if you have any special requirements). Each day we provide breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The chef will include meals using freshly caught fish and our famous Honey-Chilli Mud Crab.
